Coaching for women in elected office

We want to make sure that every woman in elected office is equipped with the skillset she needs. We provide elected representatives with 6 months of pro-bono, confidential coaching to help overcome challenges, build confidence and progress in leadership.

We are currently at capacity in our coaches’ network and unfortunately cannot accept any more registrations for the time being.

We are still accepting applications from women in elected office to receive coaching, sign up today to take part.

Too often, we see elected women stepping down before they have hit their stride.

Our network of over 150 coaches support women to thrive in politics with 1:1 coaching. By providing elected women with the time and confidential space they need to process their experiences in elected office, they can overcome challenges, build confidence and skills and feel less alone.

Whether you’re new to your elected role, at the end of your term and deciding whether to re-stand, or are looking to step down and working out what comes next, our coaching programme can help you define your goals, evaluate your impact and lead authentically.

  • The coaching helped me clarify my expectations and fears about my new role as an elected councillor. Getting independent help during this busy and sometimes overwhelming period was very useful and helped me feel grounded and confident in my abilities.

  • The Elect Her coaching programme helped me take stock of what I had already achieved; tamed my imposter syndrome and anxiety; helped me look at things from a different perspective & take different approaches. By the last session I was much more confident and comfortable in my role.

    Former coachee

  • I felt much more at ease, more confident and had a clearer sense that I belonged in my new role. Her support was transformative, and I know I would not have been able to feel this way had she not been there… I came out of it so much stronger and more confident, that I now feel able to deal with the task ahead without necessarily needing the level of support the coach offered me.

    Former coachee

  • The impact of the support from my coach was huge - I've clarified a lot of my thinking and made key, helpful changes. I'm clearer about my goals and how best to achieve them and realise that I have a lot more control over how I work and how I am perceived than I thought I did. It was a fantastic experience that I know I'll carry with me through my career.

  • It was a rewarding and fascinating experience. I learned a lot and my coachee expressed immense gratitude for the process and insights I shared too.

    Former coach

  • This is a brilliant idea! In fact, given what I experienced, a formal coaching programme for all elected officials feels like a no brainer.

    Former coach

  • This is a wonderful scheme and I really enjoyed the coaching sessions I had, the supervision session and meeting other coaches. I am keen to get involved again.

    Former coach
