How To Be An SNP Councillor

Are you flirting with the idea of being an SNP candidate in the May 2022 elections? Are you figuring out your next steps in making your political ambitions a reality? Do you want to know more about the processes and procedures that enable you to stand for elected office? Then this workshop is for you!

This workshop with a spotlight on The Scottish National Party, will provide a safe space for women to demystify the process of standing for the party as a Councillor in the May 22 local Government elections. It will provide the opportunity for you to learn more about the party, language used internally and the steps you need to take to put yourself forward for selection as a candidate ahead of the 2022 elections.

This workshop is a part of our Be A Councillor series, which aims to highlight the support available to you on your journey from inside the parties and other programmes at Elect Her. Most importantly, we want to support you to define your own next steps in standing for elected office.

We will be joined by some dynamic women from inside the parties who will share their knowledge and experience in order to help you develop your plans for standing.
