Hannah Stevens appointed as new Director of Elect Her

I am super excited to announce that Hannah Stevens, our fabulous Programme Manager, has been promoted to the position of Director starting on the 1st of July.

Hannah started with us 3 years ago as our first ever employee, working as an administration assistant for 8 hours a week. She really stood in the interview process because right at the end of the call she told us that if we wanted an admin assistant she could really do that but if what we were looking for was someone who could help build our organisation from the ground up, she was our woman. The confidence and vision in that last sentence took my breath away and Vicky and I knew that she was the right person for the job. That and the fact that on her CV she had described her period of being at home with two small children as ‘Project Manager’ and listed all the transferable skills she had developed and used in that time. So you see, she has always been awesome and we were VERY lucky to have nabbed her before anyone else did.

Over the last 3 years she has gone from working 1 day a week to 4 days and has improved the Elect Her in countless ways. Many of you have worked with her on the Peer Circles or engaged with her on the event in the Scottish Parliament Scotland’s Women Stand or in London on London’s Women Stand and know how committed she is to equality and diversity and social justice. She embodies the principles of Elect Her – unfailingly positive and no woman left behind. She has always called us to be the best we can be and I feel privileged to be able to work with her and hand the Direction of the organisation over to her.

Hannah will lead Elect Her through a period of evolution as we formalise as a charity and build on our current online series of workshops and look to how to achieve our mission of 51% of all elected positions in the UK being filled by women. I feel certain that the organisation is in the best hands possible. Please join me in congratulating Hannah on this new role.
