WHO WE ARE

We work to motivate, support and equip women in all their diversity to stand for political office in Britain.

We provide women with the knowledge, confidence and skills to take the next step on their political journey, and thrive once in elected office. We demystify the process of standing for elected office and motivate women to create action plans for standing through free workshops and online resources. Whilst our work may appear political at first glance, it isn't. This work is about women.

We are here to equip you with the knowledge, confidence, and skills you need to stand for political office.

We work across the political spectrum, and welcome women from all backgrounds and beliefs, representing all parties and none. Representation is important.

Politics doesn’t work unless it really reflects and represents communities. It’s time for a different type of politics. We believe the world will be a better place when more women are in power. We are a tiny but mighty team of women across Britain committed to building a world where at least 51% of elected officials are women.

We need more women in politics because:

  • Women policy makers prioritise issues that benefit the most vulnerable in society, such as healthcare, welfare and education, meaning women leaders make for more equal and caring societies

  • On average, women work harder than men to represent their constituencies, making voters feel that government is more responsive to their needs

  • Increased representation of women in elected office is associated with counteracting corruption and focusing resources on quality and consistency of public service deliver

  • States where women hold more political power are less likely to go to war, and less likely to commit human rights abuses

  • Women bring collaborative and inclusive leadership styles into political environments that are often characterised by division and one-upmanship

Meet our Team

We are a small team of women who adore what we do and want to be cheerleaders for the women we work with. We are passionate about creating a safe space for women to feel acknowledged and championed. We want women in our community to feel that politics is for them, and our democracy will be in a better state when women are able to lead authentically and bring their full selves to the role.

Our Values

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive organisation and our core values are rooted in intersectional feminism and drive our work and team.

No woman left behind

We are a fully inclusive and intersectional feminist organisation. Throughout our work, we hold a particular focus on including and advancing women of colour, women of faith, women with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ women, women from lower income backgrounds, younger women and those with caring responsibilities, who are all further underrepresented in politics.

Unfailingly positive and future-focused.

We still have a long way to go until we see all women represented in politics, but we know we will do this!

Flexible and agile.

We adapt ourselves to women’s busy lives. We offer live sessions at different times of the day and week, and self-led resources that you can access at any time.

Learning organisation.

We always strive to listen and grow. Hearing and developing our work directly in response to the experiences of women in our community guides our work.

Non-partisan.

We need more women in leadership, in all parties. We provide a space for women to come together across the political spectrum and put party differences aside during our workshops.

When signing up to our workshops, we ask that all women participate in line with our community values.

Our Board of Directors help guide our work and ensure we are working in line with our vision and values.

Our work is possible due to the wide range of women in our world who support us in creating new resources, workshops and activities on a freelance basis and we’re so grateful for their work!

  • “Thank you for this refreshing exercise. It's been an amazing journey and one I will treasure. I really enjoyed the investment and our team was brilliant. It's opened my eyes to what's possible if we keep an open mind and work across parties. We need 50/50 gender parity for a better UK and a better world.”
