Campaign Planning

You’re standing. Now let’s work out what that looks like.

This lunchtime session is part of Equip Her: Workshops, six free online workshops running every Monday from 2nd November to 7th December. Each one balances practical campaign training with emotional wellbeing, so you can build your skills and your confidence side by side.

In this session, we’ll help you build out your campaign so you can manage it all. What do you need to think about? How do you fit a campaign around the rest of your life? Which resources are essential, and which are added bonuses?

What to expect:

  • A welcoming space to reset, check in and connect with other women at the same stage as you, across party lines;

  • Targeted, expert-led training on campaign planning;

  • Interactive discussions, templates and breakout conversations that turn learning into your personal campaign action plan.

Campaigning doesn’t have to be done in isolation. We’ll meet you where you are and equip you with the skills, confidence and knowledge you need in this moment. Come with your questions, leave with a plan that works for you.

What we expect from you:

These workshops are a shared space, and the experience is shaped by everyone who joins. In return for the training, support and community we offer, we ask that you are:

  • Respectful

    • Our workshops are open to women of all political parties and none, and learning to listen to and work with people who hold different views is a vital skill for elected office. We don’t discuss policy or positioning, and we ask you to uphold our values of equality, respect, inclusivity and compassion. Hate speech and disrespect will not be tolerated, and we may ask anyone who doesn’t uphold these values to leave.

  • Motivated

    • These workshops are for women who are seriously committed to running a campaign and are in the process of selection or preparing to stand. If you’re still exploring whether to become a candidate, our Ready to Get Involved resources and events are a better fit.

  • Committed

    • Join from a quiet space where you can listen and contribute without distractions, ready to connect with other candidates in the breakout rooms. We also encourage you to set aside time each week for the Campaign in a Box materials.

  • Open

    • Be willing to reflect on your candidacy so far, build new connections, listen to others’ views, receive feedback and share your own experiences.

  • Heart-led

    • Each workshop balances practical training with space to breathe. Be open to self-care and to thinking with your heart as well as your head, and be kind to yourself and to the other women in the room. We’ll be realistic about the challenges candidates face, but we hold on to hope and joy, so you leave energised, not drained.

The workshop is available for all women currently standing for selection and elections. If you are not yet signed up as a candidate in our community, please do so below. Once registered, you’ll receive instant access to Campaign in a Box, plus regular email invitations to all upcoming workshops with the Zoom link to join us.

Elect Her is committed to hosting inclusive, accessible support that enable all women to engage fully in our conversations. We will make reasonable adjustments throughout the sessions, so there is universal access. Throughout our programme of support, we anticipate what is needed in advance and respond to needs as they emerge.
